Welcome to East Coast Baby Co. These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of our website and your engagement of our postpartum support, infant care, feeding support, and sleep consulting services ("Services"). By accessing our website or engaging our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our website or Services.

1. SERVICES OVERVIEW

East Coast Baby Co. provides professional postpartum and infant care support services, including but not limited to:

• Postpartum doula services

• Newborn care specialist services (daytime and overnight)

• Infant feeding support and education

• Sleep consulting and sleep training guidance

Our Services are available in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Delaware. Service availability may vary by location.

2. NOT MEDICAL ADVICE

IMPORTANT: Our Services are supportive and educational in nature. East Coast Baby Co. does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Our postpartum doulas, newborn care specialists, and sleep consultants are not licensed medical professionals unless separately credentialed. While we provide information consistent with American Academy of Pediatrics guidelines, our Services do not replace the advice of your pediatrician, obstetrician, midwife, lactation consultant (IBCLC), or other healthcare providers. Always consult with qualified healthcare professionals regarding medical concerns for yourself or your baby.

3. BOOKING AND SCHEDULING

Consultations: We offer free initial consultations to discuss your needs and determine if our Services are a good fit for your family.

Booking: Services are booked based on availability. We recommend booking as early as possible, especially for services needed around your due date. Booking is confirmed upon receipt of a signed service agreement and any required deposit.

Scheduling Flexibility: We understand that babies arrive on their own schedules. We strive to accommodate scheduling changes, but availability cannot be guaranteed for last-minute requests.

4. PAYMENT TERMS

Rates: Service rates will be provided during your consultation and outlined in your service agreement. Rates may vary based on service type, duration, and scheduling (daytime vs. overnight).

Deposits: A deposit may be required to secure your booking. Deposit requirements and refund policies will be specified in your service agreement.

Payment: Payment is due as specified in your service agreement. We accept various payment methods as communicated during booking. Late payments may result in service suspension.

5. CANCELLATION AND RESCHEDULING

Cancellation and rescheduling policies are outlined in your individual service agreement. Generally, we request advance notice for cancellations or schedule changes. Last-minute cancellations may be subject to fees. We understand that emergencies happen and will work with families on a case-by-case basis.

6. IN-HOME SERVICES

Safe Environment: You agree to provide a safe working environment for our team members. This includes a smoke-free environment during services, secure and accessible parking where possible, and a respectful atmosphere.

Illness: If members of your household are ill with contagious conditions, please notify us immediately. We may need to reschedule services to protect the health of your newborn, your family, and our team members.

Access: You agree to provide appropriate access to your home for scheduled services and ensure that a parent or authorized adult is present or available as required.

7. CONFIDENTIALITY

We respect your family's privacy. Our team members are trained to maintain confidentiality regarding your family, your home, and any information shared during services. We do not discuss client families with other clients or share identifying information without your consent. Please see our Privacy Policy for complete details.

8. PHOTOGRAPHS AND SOCIAL MEDIA

We will not photograph your family, your baby, or your home without your explicit written permission. Any testimonials, reviews, or images used for marketing purposes require your prior consent.

9. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, EAST COAST BABY CO., ITS OWNERS, EMPLOYEES, AND CONTRACTORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF OUR SERVICES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM SERVICES PROVIDED SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THOSE SPECIFIC SERVICES. THIS LIMITATION DOES NOT APPLY TO LIABILITY ARISING FROM GROSS NEGLIGENCE OR WILLFUL MISCONDUCT.

10. ASSUMPTION OF RISK

You acknowledge that caring for newborns and postpartum recovery involves inherent uncertainties. While we provide support and guidance based on best practices and AAP guidelines, outcomes vary for every family. You retain full decision-making authority regarding the care of your baby and agree that all parenting decisions remain your responsibility.

11. INDEMNIFICATION

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless East Coast Baby Co., its owners, employees, and contractors from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of our Services, your violation of these Terms, or any third-party claims related to actions taken in your home.

12. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

All content on our website, including text, graphics, logos, images, educational materials, and the Postpartum Planning Guide, is the property of East Coast Baby Co. and is protected by copyright laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use our content without prior written permission.

13. WEBSITE USE

Our website is provided for informational purposes. While we strive to keep information current and accurate, we do not warrant that all content is complete, accurate, or up-to-date. Blog posts and resources are educational and do not constitute professional advice.

14. DISPUTE RESOLUTION

Governing Law: These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New Jersey, without regard to conflict of law provisions.

Dispute Resolution: Any disputes arising from these Terms or our Services shall first be addressed through good-faith negotiation. If negotiation fails, disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration in the State of New Jersey in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association.

15. SEVERABILITY

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
